(February 14, 2025)—The Colonial Heights School Board announced today that it will begin the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications.

The school board has created a survey related to superintendent criteria, which is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ColonialHeights25 and on the home page of the division web site. Hard copies of the survey will also be available at the School Board Administration offices, at each of the schools, Colonial Heights Public Library, and Colonial Heights City Hall Welcome Center.

In addition to the survey, the board will hold a public hearing:

            Date:               February 25, 2025

            Time:               6:30pm

Location:         Colonial Heights High School, Technical Building – A/V Room
3451 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834

"The appointment of a new superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities entrusted to a school board, and it is our priority to ensure that the public has an active role in this selection process," stated Steven Neece, the Chair of the School Board. "We urge parents, staff, and residents to participate by completing the survey or attending the public hearing."

The school board selected the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) to assist the board with the superintendent search.

The last day to submit a survey response is February 27, 2025.
