Notice of Nondiscrimination

In accordance with federal law, school divisions are required to notify students, parents, and others that they do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age.

 A number of federal statutes protect the rights of beneficiaries in programs or activities that receive financial assistance from discrimination. Specifically, the following statutes prohibit discrimination:

  • Title VI on the basis of race, color and national origin

  • Title IX on the basis of sex

  • Section 504 on the basis of disability

  • the Age Discrimination Act on the basis of age

  • Title II prohibits state and local governments from discriminating on the basis of disability

  • the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) protects employees from discrimination on the basis of genetic information

Statement of Complaint

A Statement of Complaint should be submitted by any student or employee who believes he or she has been the victim of discrimination or harassment prohibited by law. The allegation should be reported as soon as possible of the occurrence. Further, an employee or student who has knowledge of conduct which may constitute discrimination or harassment should report such conduct to the Title IX Coordinator, Burke George. All complaints will be addressed promptly, with further investigation conducted where needed to confirm facts or resolve disputed facts.
